Indian Runner Ducks
Originating from the Indonesian Islands and Indian rivers runner ducks were introduced into Britain in the 1830's.
They are unusual in that they stand upright and run rather than waddle like other ducks, for this reason they have also been known as 'penguin' ducks!
They do not fly and lay around 180 eggs (usually light bluey couloured) a year. Only the females quack, the males make a kind of 'squish squish' noise!!!
Available in many colours, including Black, Chocolate, Mallard, Trout, Fawn, Magpie, the list goes on!
The are friendly, intelligent ducks, quick learner and an endless source of comical fun to have around!
